Great Christmas Letters With a Personalized Touch
It's that time of year again, time to gather up all of the news of the year and start working on your family Christmas letter. You can start with one basic letter and adapt it to fit the style needed for the intended recipients. By adding or deleting content to the basic Christmas letter you can tailor the letter to appear personalized for the receiver. You can make this much less trouble than it sounds by letting the stationery set the tone for you. Make a list of who you will be sending your family Christmas letter to and then sort the list into style categories such as whimsical, religious, or sophisticated, etc. For example, whimsical stationery would be perfect for family members and friends with children the same age as your children. There are many wonderful stationery choices bearing pictures of Santa, snowmen, comical penguins, or candy canes. Add a few paragraphs about the kids to your basic Christmas letter on cheerful stationery and it will be joyfully read. You may wish to send acquaintances at your church a brief Christmas letter with a religious theme. Select paper with a reverent tone such as Mary and Baby Jesus, the three wise men, or celestial angels . The appropriate letterhead will acknowledge your understanding of the reason for the season. With casual acquaintances, less detail is more appropriate by using the basic Christmas letter with few additions. I find it awkward reading in great detail about the activities of a child from a first marriage that I had no idea existed prior to receiving the Christmas letter. There are bound to be people that you wish to keep in contact with and share your family Christmas letter with that have a different religious belief than your family, or perhaps no religious belief at all. It is very easy to transform your "Christmas" letter into a "Holiday" letter by selecting an appropriate letterhead to send it on. Nature scenes would be a magnificent choice such as cardinals in birch trees, evergreen pine and berries, or snowflakes. The fact that you are considerate of their beliefs and feelings will speak volumes to them. Creating customized family Christmas/Holiday letters will really be easy. Prepare one master document with everything you wish to share. On a blank document, copy and paste the paragraphs needed for the intended recipient, choose just the right holiday letterhead paper to load into the printer and print. Be sure to personally sign each letter and send it in a coordinating envelope. Then send the grandparents the master Christmas letter because they will want to know every detail. Happy Holidays!
